MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has reset the resumption of the printing of ballots this weekend to Monday next week after a senatorial aspirant withdrew his candidacy even after the Supreme Court granted his petition to have his name included in the ballot.

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections has reset the resumption of the printing of ballots this weekend to Monday next week after a senatorial aspirant withdrew his candidacy even after the Supreme Court granted his petition to have his name included in the ballot.Chairman George Erwin Garcia said on Friday that before Francis Leo Marcos filed his withdrawal, the Comelec was all set for the weekend printing and was actually set to start even earlier, at 3 p.m.

Our real purpose is to give the right information to the Supreme Court about the developments in the Comelec.'This is the second time that the Comelec postponed the printing of ballots. The first was on Jan. 14 when the high tribunal issued a TRO in favor of a national aspirant and four local candidates that resulted in the wastage of 6 million ballots.
