The Davao City Anti‑Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) organized a comprehensive five‑day workshop from October 12 to 16 at the World Palace Hotel, equipping more than a hundred barangay officials, focal persons and nutrition officers with practical tools to prevent drug use, support recovery, and strengthen community‑based interventions. The training combined the General Intervention on Health and Well‑Being Awareness (GINHAWA) for low‑risk populations and Katatagan, Kalusugan at Damayan ng Komunidad (KKDK) for moderate‑risk cases, emphasizing evidence‑based strategies, root‑cause analysis, and social reintegration. Representatives of CADAC and barangay leaders highlighted the crucial role of local governance in creating drug‑free communities and urged continued collaboration with city authorities.
