MANILA, Philippines: A complaint has been filed before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Camarines Sur in connection with the brutal killing of pet dog Killua.

Vina Rachelle Arazas, the dog's owner, and the Philippine Animal Welfare Society filed the complaint on Monday against Anthony Solares for alleged violation of the Animal Welfare Act.In a statement before the complaint was filed Monday, March 25, 2024, PAWS said that the dog tested positive for rabies.

PAWS said that under the Bureau of Animal Industry's Manual of Procedure for rabies, the standard protocol if an animal is suspected of having rabies is to observe it for 14 days or, in case of highly suspected rabies cases, to humanely euthanize it without damage to the head.
