A TOTAL of 80 houses were destroyed by a fire that struck Zone 7 Ihawan, Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City, on Monday afternoon, March 3, 2025, displacing 500 individuals.According to the Mandaue City Fire Station’s spot report, the blaze was first reported at 2:56 p.m., with firefighters arriving at the scene within two minutes.The fire quickly escalated, prompting a second alarm at 3:07 p.m.Firefighters were able to contain the flames by 3:35 p.m.
Although no casualties or injuries were reported, the blaze caused an estimated P750,000 worth of damage to properties and affected an area of 1,500 square meters.Emergency responders from the Mandaue City Fire Station, including personnel from Shift B, were deployed to the scene. Fire trucks, along with an ambulance, were mobilized.
