Funding has been announced for a new marketing campaign to showcase Truro and the surrounding area as a place doctors might like to make their new home. | SaltWire
is directing the campaign. CEO for the TCPEP, J. David Phillips, talked about the campaign.
“The Partnership has been leading the charge in the local effort to recruit and retain family doctors for a few years now,” he said. “While we don’t have a lot of influence as to how many family doctors, residents, and interns are exposed to our community, there is a great deal we can do locally to ensure the folks who do come see what a special place this is, and the great, balanced life a person can have here.
There are approximately 7,000 people in our community waiting for a family doctor. We need to retire this patient waitlist, and this funding will carry us a long way in our recruitment efforts,” he added. "The Truro-Colchester region is the most central location in the province. We have a vibrant and active community with all the amenities that a family can ask for. We have so much to offer healthcare workers,” said“This funding will help the community make that case to doctors who are considering a move. We'll be able to support our strong local team in building on the great work they are doing to ensure people in our area have access to the healthcare they need.
