THE Police Regional Office in Central Visayas is stepping up its preparations for the upcoming National and Local Elections in May 2025, ensuring strict security measures in the region.During the third Regional Joint Security Council Meeting, Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, head of PRO 7, reported that security concerns in each area were discussed in collaboration with the Commission on Elections in Central Visayas and the Armed Forces of the Philippines .

Maranan himself plans to stay in the province for up to four days to personally oversee security operations.'Yes, as far as we are concern, we have identified the 16 election areas of concern, the whole Region 7 and fourteen of that is in Negros Oriental and two are in Bohol. So that's why in the coming days, we will be deploying additional 200 policemen there in Negros and I'll be staying there maybe 4 days there and 3 days here.
