Comelec Sets Local Absentee Voting for May 2025 Polls

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has announced that local absentee voting (LAV) for the May 2025 elections will take place from April 28 to 30. This three-day period will allow eligible government officials, employees, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police, and media personnel to cast their votes before Election Day. Applications for LAV must be submitted by March 7, 2025.

THE Commission on Elections is set to hold the local absentee voting for the May 2025 polls on April 28 to 30 or less than two weeks before Election Day. Under Resolution No. 11091, the Comelec set the LAV for three days and will be open to government officials and employees, members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Philippine National Police , as well as members of the media.

For government officials and employees, and members of the AFP and PNP, they may file their applications before their heads of offices/supervisors/commanders/officers next-in- rank. As for the media, their LAV applications may be filed at the Office of the Regional Election Director - National Capital Region for those in Metro Manila; Office of the City Election Officer for independent cities outside Metro Manila; and Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor for areas not mentioned above.
