Owen Phillips gave the Halifax Mooseheads a glimpse into his bright future on Saturday. The rookie defenceman from Hammonds Plains scored his first QMJHL ...

"So I really think he's getting rewarded for his hard work and guys like Fournier, it's in the back of their head that they're 19 and they want to produce offensively. He's a guy at the junior A level was first or second in scoring in the CCHL last year so he's used to scoring goals. He was itching to get one and now he has it so it's a huge relief. But he's really been progressing well and transitioning to the major junior game quite nicely.

Mathis Rousseau stopped 22 shots and only lost his shutout with 2:11 left in the third period when a breakaway attempt from Keiran Gallant slowly crossed the goal line before the Halifax goalie could get his glove on it. Franceso Lapenna finished with 28 saves for Charlottetown. "Obviously our goal today was to come into Charlottetown and improve. It's never easy to play here. Charlottetown can say they're in a rebuild all they want but they still have some good pieces and they picked up guys from Ontario who played in the OHL and can play major junior hockey. It's never easy to beat this team so I really thought our guys did a good job with the game management.
