Two suspected snatchers were neutralized by police in Barangay Anunas, Angeles City , Pampanga , on Tuesday afternoon, February 18. The Angeles City Police Office received information about two suspicious individuals roaming Korean Town, an area that has recently experienced an increase in snatching incidents. Police conducted a surveillance operation and spotted the suspects on a black motorcycle without a license plate.
When the suspects attempted to evade police, the back rider opened fire at the pursuing lawmen, but his weapon malfunctioned. Police returned fire, neutralizing the driver and wounding the back rider, identified as Alex, a resident of Magalang, Pampanga. The driver's identity is still being determined. Recovered from the crime scene were a US Colt .45 caliber pistol with a partially defaced serial number, a magazine containing six bullets, a chamber-loaded live round, and a fired bullet.
