The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) recently announced an increase in the daily subsistence allowance for all military personnel, highlighting their commitment to improving the well-being of soldiers. The adjustment, approved as part of the General Appropriations Act FY 2025, raises the allowance from PHP 150 to PHP 350 per day. This increase, retroactive to January 1st, was officially announced through Executive Order No. 84 signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on March 14th.
\AFP spokesperson, Colonel Francel Margareth Padilla, emphasized that ensuring the welfare of military personnel is a top priority. She stated that troop strength and readiness directly contribute to national security and resilience, making adequate support for soldiers crucial. Padilla also underscored the dedication of the AFP to strengthening the well-being of its troops, especially those serving on the frontlines. \Echoing these sentiments, Philippine Navy Spokesperson Captain John Percie Alcos highlighted that the increased subsistence allowance will significantly boost the morale of sailors and marines. He emphasized that the administration recognizes the unwavering dedication and sacrifices made by the Navy personnel in safeguarding the nation's sovereignty.
