The National Housing Authority formally awarded 3,517 housing units to families affected by Typhoon Yolanda in 2013 during a turnover ceremony at the Burauen Community College in Leyte on Friday.
The housing units are located across various sites in Leyte, including Cool Spring Residences, Riverside Community Residences, Mont Eagle Ville Subdivision, Coconut Grove Village, Dagami Town Ville, and Pastrana Ville. Units were also turned over in Marabut Ville Sites 1 and 2 in Samar and the Culaba Housing Project in Biliran.
Developed under the NHA’s Yolanda Permanent Housing Program , the homes and lots were granted to beneficiaries at no cost.President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said during the event.“Nagpatayo tayo ng mga bahay na matibay at kayang siguruhing ligtas ang inyong pamilya sa gitna ng mga hamon ng kalikasan,”The chief executive also urged the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and the NHA to prioritize climate-resilient designs for future housing projects.
