The 102nd Infantry Brigade (102Bde) in Zamboanga Sibugay province inaugurated a modern two-storey barracks for enlisted personnel, providing them with comfortable living conditions. The project, initiated in 2020, was completed with the support of various stakeholders and government agencies.
SOLDIERS assigned at the 102nd Infantry Brigade (102Bde) headquarters with no place to stay, now have a conducive billeting place inside its camp in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay .This, as the 102Bde inaugurated last week its newly constructed modern two-storey barracks for enlisted personnel at its headquarters in Sanito village, Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay province.
The 102Bde said in a statement Monday, December 23, 2024, that the modern facility features a multi-purpose lounge, a centralized dining area with a kitchen, and other leisure amenities designed to enhance the living conditions of the command's enlisted personnel. The 102Bde said the construction of the barracks began in 2020 under the joint initiative of the Department of National Defense-Department of Public Works and Highways (DND-DPWH) Tatag ng Imprastraktura para sa Kapayapaan at Seguridad (TIKAS) Program, through the efforts of the then 2nd District Representative Dulce Ann Hofer and Brigadier General Leonel Nicolas, the then brigade commander. The funding for its completion was secured earlier this year through the initiative of incumbent 2nd District Representative Antonieta Eudela. The project also received support from various stakeholders, including Engineer Nonoy Pawaki, Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor Yu and Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal, whose donations were instrumental in bringing the project to fruition. Their unwavering support, alongside with the hard work and dedication of the troops and militiamen of the 102Bde and 1st infantry Division (1ID), through the 1st Installation Management Battalion (1IMB), who contributed their skills and labor, made the project possible.Meanwhile, Brigadier General Elmer Suderio, 102Bde commander, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all those who contributed to the realization of the project.“This barracks is a testament to the unwavering support of our partners and stakeholders,” Suderio said in a statement
