THE Army’s 53rd Infantry Battalion has conducted five-day Platoon Sergeant Training, empowering the participants to make decisions for the welfare of the troops.The training was held from Monday, November 25, 2024, until Friday, November 29, at Camp Major David Sabido that houses the headquarters of the 53IB in Poblacion village, Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur.
The 53IB said Saturday, November 30, that 10 representatives from the Battalion’s line companies attended the training, aimed at honing the critical thinking, decision-making, and leadership skills. “The program empowered our platoon sergeants with the necessary skills to make sound decisions under pressure, ensuring mission success and troop welfare,” Lieutenant Colonel Rolando Vargas, Jr., 53IB commander, said.
