The National Commission for Indigenous Peoples-Davao Region (NCIP-Davao) has announced the suspension of new scholarship applications for the NCIP-Educational Assistance Program (NCIP-EAP) due to significant budget cuts in the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA). The NCIP-Davao will prioritize existing grantees and utilize the remaining funds to support them. The agency is facing a substantial budget reduction of approximately P400 million in the 2025 GAA, with the Davao region experiencing a P15 million cut. This will significantly impact the services provided to Indigenous Communities (ICs).
