Cebu City Police intensify crime prevention measures with the establishment of 30 police outposts strategically located throughout the city. These outposts, staffed by two uniformed officers, provide 24-hour surveillance and serve as accessible points of contact for citizens. The program has already yielded positive results, including the recent recovery of a stolen necklace thanks to the swift action of officers stationed at a police outpost.

The Cebu City Police are intensifying their efforts to combat crime and enhance public safety by establishing police outposts in high-crime areas and locations with heavy foot traffic. These outposts complement the existing beat patrol system, providing a more visible and immediate police presence. According to Police Colonel Enrico Figueroa, the head of the Cebu City Police Office, there are currently 30 police outposts strategically deployed throughout the city.

Each outpost is staffed by two uniformed police officers who maintain 24-hour surveillance. Equipped with blinking lights for increased visibility, these outposts serve as easily identifiable points of contact for individuals seeking assistance in case of an incident. Furthermore, the officers manning these outposts are equipped with essential tools such as two-way radios, megaphones, and firearms to effectively respond to emergencies and maintain order.Figueroa emphasized the vital role played by Mayor Raymond Alvin Garcia in supporting this initiative. He underscored that without the mayor's generous contributions and backing, the implementation of this program would not have been possible. Figueroa reassured the public that the police force is committed to continuing this program and expanding its reach with the additional support from the local government unit (LGU). Notably, the police outposts have already proven their effectiveness in reducing crime rates within Cebu City.A recent incident involving the capture of a notorious thief who had attacked an elderly man on M.L. Quezon Street in Barangay Talamban on February 10th serves as a testament to the program's success. The quick intervention of two police officers stationed at a nearby outpost resulted in the recovery of a valuable gold necklace worth approximately P120,000 from the victim. Figueroa explained the operational structure of the outposts, stating that one officer will patrol the surrounding area while the other remains stationed at the outpost. This rotation ensures continuous coverage and a responsive presence in the area. He also emphasized the importance of regular monitoring by police stations to ensure that officers at the outposts remain alert and vigilant. Looking ahead, Figueroa expressed his intention to further enhance the city's anti-crime efforts by increasing the number of mobile patrols and motorcycles, and even incorporating drones into their operations
