Over 800 police officers were deployed to secure the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) during a free concert organized by the Cebu City government on January 16, 2025. The deployment aims to prevent a repeat of previous free concerts at CCSC where overcrowding and stampeding incidents occurred. A ticket system was implemented to monitor the number of attendees and close entry if capacity is exceeded. Overflowing crowd can still enjoy the show via a large LED screen installed on Osmeña Boulevard. Part of the security measures include closing Osmeña Boulevard at RR Landon to accommodate those who couldn't secure tickets. Police also thanked the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for its presence to prevent illegal drugs from entering the venue. The police also strictly prohibited entry to anyone who appears intoxicated.
