THE Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) wants to expand its industry-specific skills program to address talent shortage in high-growth business sectors.

THE Department of Trade and Industry wants to expand its industry-specific skills program to address talent shortage in high-growth business sectors.The agency has teamed up with the Asian Development Bank and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to launch Phase 2 of SkillsUpNet Philippines , a program that provides grants to 10 local enterprises.Its main objective is to conduct specialized workforce training across the country.'We need to develop specific skills.

Phase 2 will expand its reach and focus to deliver specialized training in creative industries , agriculture , renewable energy, electric vehicles, advanced manufacturing and robotics, solar energy, logistics, supply chain management, information technology and business process management, construction, and tourism.'We strongly believe that a skilled workforce is the backbone of our economy.
