CEBU CITY—Beachgoers frolicking on Easter Sunday should have been a common sight in most parts in the province of Cebu, or even the Philippines.
But with the province-wide enhanced community quarantine in effect, shorelines and even the known beaches in the province were all but left deserted.
The EO “prohibits all persons within the Province of Cebu from entering the vicinity of private or public beaches and other bodies of water such as waterfalls and rivers.” Police said the six persons violated the ECQ protocol that prohibits outdoor activities meant to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 .
Several arrests were also made last Friday after they were caught engaging in illegal cockfights, locally known as “tigbakay”.
