Stone carver Shawn Moore will have two pieces in the Tearmann Society's Celebration of Art.STELLARTON – The Tearmann Society’s 26th annual Celebration of Art is approaching and artist Shawn Moore has his latest piece ready to go.
The stone carving made specifically for the auction is entitled ‘Her Sacrifice’. It's carved from Brazilian soapstone for the event at the Museum of Industry. He’s also including another soapstone work called ‘Reclaimed,’ which will be featured in the sale which takes place Thursday, Oct. 13. Meteorologist Cindy Day is the celebrity emcee for the event.
Tickets are available at Big Al’s in New Glasgow and at Hector Building Supplies in Stellarton or by calling 902-752-1633. Tickets are $40 and give you a one in 10 chance to win a piece of local original art, a complimentary drink and hors d’oeuvres from The Pantry Kitchen. All funds raised support the Tearmann Society for Abused Women.It has been our privilege to have the trust and support of our East Coast communities for the last 200 years.
