Marine police personnel made the discovery at Sungai Pegagau following a public tip-off on smuggling activities involving subsidised fuel at about 8pm on Monday .“The policemen found the fuel in the tanker but did not find anyone on board.
"The team waited until 6am the next day but no one turned up at the vessel,” said the source, adding the ship was seized and subsequently towed to the district marine base. Region Four Marine Police Commander Asst Comm Ahmad Ariffin confirmed the matter when contacted on Tuesday ."They have been handed over to the Semporna Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry office for the next course of action," said ACP Ahmad.
