The state youth and sports committee hopes to unearth new talent and promote interest in volleyball and takraw chinlone.
State youth and sports committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said construction was expected to be completed on Aug 29.
“We built these courts upon requests from residents here, especially the youth, so that they no longer have to go to other places to play these games. “Once the project is completed, we hope to unearth new talent and promote interest in volleyball and takraw chinlone,” Soon told state publisher Buletin Mutiara.In another development, Soon said the state government has remained committed to providing recreational areas for Penangites.
He said Penang Stadium Corporation and Open Spaces had undertaken a series of developments involving sports facilities in the state.“Similarly, a running track and football field at a sports complex in Jalan Betek, Bukit Mertajam, have also been upgraded.“They are the Seberang Jaya public swimming pool, WoodHaven forest park and Nibong Tebal Arena,” he said.during the handover of the field in Taman Supreme to MBSP.Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P.
