Non-profit hopes to raise RM200,000 from Sept 9 food fair

The Salvation Army Ipoh’s charity fair will be held at its children’s home in Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun (Jalan Kampar) on Sept 9, from 9am to 1pm.

Organising chairman Chong Kho Ken said the fair to raise funds for operational costs, would be held at its children’s home in Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun on Sept 9 from 9am to 1pm.

Chong said yearly operational costs had increased because of the economic downturn in the past few years. “Due to the pandemic, we were unable to organise fundraising events over the past three-and-a-half years,” he said in a statement.“This year, we want to reconnect with the community by organising the food fair.”They comprise the children’s home, Ipoh Boys’ Home, Perak Home For The Aged and Ipoh Community Service Centre.“We are also helping more than 10 families with monthly food parcels,” he said, adding that the targeted coupon sales for the food fair was RM200,000.
