The Taguig City government announced the suspension of face-to-face classes for two days in all public schools due to the planned transport strike from March 6 to 12.

“In response to the planned transport strike next week which may adversely affect the welfare of students and teaching and non-teaching staff, the City of Taguig will suspend in-person classes on March 6 and 7 in all levels of public schools,” it said on March 4.It added, “They are to switch to online classes during those days. Private schools are encouraged to do the same.

The city government will monitor the transport strike and will make “announcements for the remaining days of the week.” “The City of Taguig understands the plight of the jeepney drivers and hopes that the government can find a judicious solution to the issue at hand,” it said. Other local government units in the National Capital Region also suspended face-to-face classes due to the transport strike.
