Malacanang allies in the House of Representatives Thursday dared officials of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office to go on voluntary leave of absence to help guarantee an objective and unfettered investigation of the widespread anomaly in PCSO operations.
Appearing at the weekly Partylist Forum, Rep. Godofredo N. Guya warned that unless the PCSO officials are suspended or go on leave, there is a strong likelihood that probers will encounter difficulties in determining the truth about the reported irregularities in the conduct of various lotteries and games by the state-run lottery firm.
ON the other hand, Presley De Jesus and Adriano Ebcas want the House inquiry fasttracked to ensure the continuation of PCSO’s charity programs. Rep. Eric Go Yap, Taduran’s partylist colleague, was recently elected chairman of the House committee. De Jesus underscored the need for the House leadership to complete the reorganization of the chamber in order for the various committees to start work.
