Former PCSO Chairman Ayong Maliksi: Lahat ng pandaraya ay nangyayari sa STL | TheSource
— Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo believes the thousands of Filipinos who suddenly lost their jobs following President Rodrigo Duterte’s order to close tens of thousands of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office -accredited gaming outlets can survive — just like when calamities strike.
Marami naman silang kinita during those times na they were operating, so I'm sure meron silang pondo to live by," he said.
Panelo said the Duterte administration will assist those left unemployed, but he did not specify what actions government is planning to take. PCSO assured the public that funds are enough to sustain charity programs until the end of the year, since the funds will be sourced from 2018 proceeds. Panelo said the Office of the President, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation which regulates casinos, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development can give financial assistance.
