Malacañang admitted that investigating the alleged corruption in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) may be difficult due to the absence of paper trail, suggesting that the government may need to look for witnesses to prove the reports of corruption.

Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo made the statement as the Office of the President investigates the supposed massive corruption in the agency’s sanctioned gaming schemes including the Peryahan ng Bayan, Small-Town Lottery , and Keno.

“Basta iniimbestigahan natin at ginagawan ng paraan ni Presidente to respond to any situation that will cater to the wishes of those who have been displaced,” he added. According to Panelo, Duterte ordered the suspension of all gaming operations to prevent the alleged corruption in the PCSO from getting worse.
