“It’s our skating legs and the pace,” Tocchet said post-practice. “One of the things I’ve to be real positive with is that our team has really changed really well. And nobody is coughing up more power-play goals than the Canucks with a paltry and historic low of a 65.8 per cent lack of efficiency. Playing on the perimeter, not playing hard inside, or failing to win board battles these are recipes for losses. And that zest to advance pucks without discipline has led to tough talk and frank decisions.
“To play as a group for a full 60 minutes, we’ve got to have really good fitness,” said defenceman Tyler Myers. “That’s something on his radar to provide more consistency. We’re doing battle drills every practice and we found out pretty quickly that he wears his heart on his sleeve.
