Quinn Hughes, though, has been an outlier. Not only are great things happening offensively when he’s on the ice, he’s been pretty decent defensively. He has the third-lowest goals against per 60 minutes of even-strength ice time among Canucks defencemen at 2.9-goals-against-per-60.Article contentLeaguewide, Hughes’s goals-against rate doesn’t stand out, but it’s comparable with Jakob Chychrun ; Victor Hedman ; and Cale Makar .
And the Canucks have done well with the puck, scoring at the second-best rate in the league. They’re scoring 3.69-goals-per-60-minutes of even-strength ice time.
