THE Philippine National Police has assured that safety and security measures are in place as part of its Ligtas Paskuhan Deployment Plan for Simbang Gabi 2024 or Misa de Gallo.In a radio interview, PNP spokesperson Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said 41,000 police officers were deployed in strategic places nationwide, including churches, amid the expected Simbang Gabi exodus leading to Christmas and New Year’s Days celebration.

Other areas on deployment focus were malls, major thoroughfares, and airport and sea ports amid the expected influx of local travelers.The PNP has also established direct lines with their respective local government units for augmentation especially for traffic management and crowd control.Fajardo reminded the public to practice vigilance as criminals elements are also expected to take advantage of the holiday exodus.
