While no tropical cyclones are currently present, the Philippines will encounter scattered and isolated rain showers across various regions due to the influence of three distinct weather systems. The shear line, easterlies, and northeast monsoon ('amihan') are each contributing to the rainy conditions.

MANILA, Philippines — The state-run agency said on Tuesday that it has not monitored any tropical cyclone but the country would be experiencing scattered and isolated rains due to the three weather systems. The convergence of the hot and cold air or shear line has been affecting Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimatopa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Quezon, and Aurora where cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms would prevail, weather specialist Rhea Torres said.

In its 5 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said another weather system, the easterlies - winds coming from the east and passing through the Pacific Ocean and carry humid, warm weather — were bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Caraga and Davao Region. The northeast monsoon or 'amihan,' would prevail over Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon and Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) where overcast skies with rains would be likely. Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao will be experiencing isolated downpours or thunderstorms also due to the easterlies over the next 24 hours, the national weather bureau said
