MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Triathlon team gears up for its loaded schedule this year.

Philippine Triathlon president Tom Carrasco aims to send eight males and eight females to the World Championships. In February the Triathlon team will compete in China and India for the Asian Cup Series, and in Bahrain for the Asian Duathlon Championships. The Asian Duathlon Championships will serve as the qualifier for the World Games duathlon in Cheng Do. Kim Mangrobang, a three-time SEA Games gold medalist is expected to compete.

Carrasco is also in search of new talents all over the Philippines to join the national team and will go over to Mindanao for tryouts. He also said that the agency is preparing for the three major events. 'We have a lot of training camps, actually the Philippine Sports Commission finds our budget big. But I told them that there are three big games in 2025. First is the World Games, Second is the Asian Youth Games, and the third one is the SEA Games,' he said.
