In a Viber message to Palace reporters, PCO Secretary Cesar B. Chavez. clarified that PCO Senior Undersecretary Emerald Anne R. Ridao will only serve as Officer-in-Charge of PCO, while he is on leave from 17 to 21 February. “I will try to work at full capacity while physically on leave,” he added. Chavez issued the clarification after it was reported that he issued a special order last Wednesday, wherein he assigned Ridao as his OIC, which sparked rumors that he is stepping down as head of PCO.

President Ferdinand Marcos has recently announced several new appointments in his Cabinet which includes Edwin M. Mercado as Philippine Health Insurance Corporation President and chief executive officer and Vivencio “Vince” B. Dizon as the new secretary of the Department of Transportation .
