The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will abide by the Games and Amusement Board's (GAB) decision to revoke the license of embattled NorthPort forward John Amores. Commissioner Willie Marcial confirmed receipt of the decision, stating that the PBA is under GAB's supervision and will comply with their ruling. Amores' license revocation prevents him from playing in any professional leagues sanctioned by GAB following an alleged shooting incident in September. Amores' camp plans to appeal the decision.
The PBA has already received a copy of the Games and Amusement Board’s decision to revoke the license of embattled NorthPort forward John Amores and commissioner Willie Marcial assured that the league will abide by the government regulatory board.
Marcial said the league received the copy of the decision signed by GAB chairman Atty. Francisco Rivera on Monday afternoon, Dec. 23. The decision to revoke Amores’ license meant that the Batang Pier forward could no longer play in any professional leagues sanctioned by GAB. According to reports, Amores shot a certain Lee Calcada Lumaya over a bet in a pick-up basketball game. The Amores brothers are currently out on bail while undergoing trial with the preliminary hearing happening last Dec. 4.
