The Game and Amusement Board revoked his professional license following the results of its investigation on Amores’ involvement in a gun-shooting incident that stemmed from a basketball game in Lumban, Laguna last September.
In a memo signed by GAB chairman Francisco Rivera, the investigation found Amores guilty of"conduct unbecoming of a professional basketball player", thus the decision to revoke his licence, making him ineligible to play in any sanctioned by the government regulatory board.Amores and his brother, who was also involved in the shooting incident, are still facing frustrated homicide charges after the victim, identified as Lee Calcada Lumaya, filed the case.
The Amores brothers are still currently out on bail with the Batang Pier player seen playing in an exhibition game in Bohol. The PBA and NorthPort have yet to issue a statement regarding GAB’s decision but it can be remembered that Amores was suspended by the league for the entirety of the Commissioner’s Cup without pay.
He was allowed to join NorthPort practices but barred from joining the team on the bench or show up during games.
