Rong Shi has detailed how he and three friends survived a freezing night on paddleboards after being swept away from a Victorian beach.
pushed them away from Rosebud Beach on Monday afternoon."We were actually a little bit scared, but not too much because we thought we were gonna get back," he told the ABC.
Mr Shi said the friends had decided to tie the two paddleboards together and drift throughout the night to conserve energy. The teens drifted for several hours in freezing temperatures until they came across Swan Island, some 20km from Rosebud. The teens were eventually discovered on the island on Tuesday morning before being taken to Geelong Hospital.
