Philippine authorities seized a large amount of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Las Piñas City. Two suspects were arrested, and authorities believe the group trafficked drugs from Pampanga to Metro Manila and the Visayas.
Philippine authorities seized almost P14 million worth of shabu (crystal methamphetamine) in a buy-bust operation conducted in Las Piñas City. The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Intelligence Service ( PDEA -IS) apprehended two individuals following a surveillance operation. Authorities revealed that the group's activities, involving shabu orders in kilogram quantities, spanned Metro Manila and the Visayas region.
According to PDEA PIO Director Lawin Gabales, the group's illicit supply chain originated in Pampanga, allegedly sourced from a Chinese national. The PDEA had previously monitored substantial transactions conducted by this group, sometimes reaching as high as five kilograms in the Visayas. Gabales emphasized that these individuals acted as drug transporters, delivering large quantities of shabu without a substantial downstream distribution network. Two kilograms of shabu, valued at almost P14 million, were confiscated during the operation. The two suspects are currently in PDEA custody, and a medical examination is scheduled.
