A group of newly elected Victorian Liberal MPs - including former tennis star Sam Groth - have set out how the party must change in a series of maiden speeches delivered this week.
Much of the Liberal Party’s review of the 2022 Federal Election, conducted by former federal director Brian Loughnane and Victorian Senator Jane Hume, focused on issues unique to the federal campaign – such as the unpopularity of former prime minister Scott Morrison.

Mr Mulholland, who party leader John Pesutto has already elevated to the role of shadow cabinet secretary, blamed the “NIMBY” attitudes among “privileged elites” for this lack of development.
However, he also called on the Liberal Party to “stand up for the future of our arts sector”, which receives “crumbs” compared to the community sporting clubs. “We can and must prioritise community safety, and also find alternative punishments for people that shouldn’t be in prison. “If we are to govern for all people and to heal the divisions between us, we must return to the universal ideas that build our shared interests and unite us as Victorians.
