The National Bureau of Investigation submitted Wednesday its recommendation to the Department of Justice for the filing of grave threat and inciting to sedition complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte over her harmful words against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Sought for comment regarding this development, the Vice President only sent this message to reporters: “As expected.” The Vice President’s statements claiming she had already ordered someone to kill President Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez in case she dies last November were part of the Articles of Impeachment filed against her.

In Garma y Miguel vs. People, the Supreme Court said the threat “should create in the mind of the person threatened the belief that the accused will carry into effect said threatening remarks or acts.”
