A 27-YEAR-OLD man tried to kill himself as the National Bureau of Investigation 7 team was about to arrest him for allegedly raping his 16-year-old stepdaughter in the City of Naga, Cebu on several occasions over the last two years. However, the suspect survived the wound in his head. After his arrest on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2025, he was brought to a hospital for treatment. The minor was reportedly raped at least once a month, with the most recent incident occurring at dawn on Saturday, Feb.
He was eventually arrested at his home in a barangay in City of Naga. Inesin said the victim, a Grade 10 student, decided to come forward and disclose the details, hoping to put an end to the abuse she had been receiving. Inesin added that while the victim did not directly mention a threat, she became fearful after seeing a gun that her stepfather possessed.
