A motorcycle rider is facing multiple charges after hitting a DOTr-SAICT enforcer and a cyclist while being chased by authorities for entering the EDSA busway. According to a report by Joseph Morong on Friday, authorities attempted to stop the rider, known as “Dong,” who was traveling on the busway along Ortigas Avenue. However, the motorcycle rider continued driving and collided with a female enforcer of the DOTR-Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation ( DOTR-SAICT ).

He then entered the bike lane and struck a male cyclist before being apprehended by authorities. Dong, who claimed he was late for work, stated that he wasn't attempting to evade accountability for the incident. He explained that he had overtaken a vehicle and entered the bus lane when authorities noticed him. According to him, his brakes failed to respond promptly, and he unintentionally hit the gas, resulting in the collisions. He insisted that it was not his intention to cause harm. DOTR-SAICT reported that the 56-year-old cyclist sustained minor injuries, while the female enforcer remained unharmed. Dong is currently detained on several charges, including direct assault, resistance and disobedience to a person in authority, and abandonment of victim. PCG investigation division chief Ensign Zan Kristian Arellano stated that further investigations will be conducted and Dong will remain detained pending the prosecutor's resolution
