Gaiman acknowledges past behavior may have been insensitive and regrets any emotional harm caused.
British-born author Neil Gaiman, known for works such as ‘The Sandman’ and ‘Coraline,’ has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women, claims which he has firmly denied.
“I’ve stayed quiet until now, both out of respect for the people who were sharing their stories and out of a desire not to draw even more attention to a lot of misinformation,” the statement said, adding that he have always tried to be a private person, and felt increasingly that social media was the wrong place to talk about important personal matters. Gaiman had face four additional allegations, bringing the total to nearly a dozen women who have accused him of sexual assault.
Pavlovich shared with *Vulture* an alleged encounter in which Gaiman invited her to bathe in a claw-foot tub in his garden. Pavlovich also alleges that Gaiman engaged in sexual activity with her while his son was present in a hotel room in Auckland. “What the fuck are you doing?” she reportedly said, describing her shock at the situation.
“I was emotionally unavailable while being sexually available, self-focused and not as thoughtful as I could or should have been,” he said.
