Marikina City has recently recorded the slowest transmission rate of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Metro Manila.
This was according to Mayor Marcelino Teodoro, who said on Sunday that the discipline and cooperation of the whole community in Marikina had paid off.
The mayor cited health experts saying that it now takes an average of eight days for COVID-19 cases in Marikina to double in number. Citing data from the Department of Health , Teodoro said Marikina has an “8.32 case doubling time rate,” which according to him, means that the city has the “slowest COVID-19 transmission” compared to other cities in Metro Manila.
“I am assuring that the city government will maintain this slow rate of transmission as much as possible,” Teodoro said.
