It is common knowledge that celebrities come and go in Philippine showbiz no matter their height of success. While there are those whose longevity is truly praiseworthy, there are those who are just as admirable for choosing a new path as they grow older and begin to raise a family.

Also adept in acting, she likewise appeared in several movies like “Ang TV The Movie: The Adarna Adventure” , “Calvento Files: The Movie” , “Nagbibinata” , “Hiling” and “Tanging Yaman” . TV-wise, she also starred in “Tabing Ilog” , “Sa Dulo Ng Walang Hanggan” and “Bituin” .There was no doubt that Banawa was one of the brightest stars of her generation and even touted at the time as the “next big thing” following the footsteps of movie and music queens Sharon Cuneta and Regine Velasquez.

Banawa’s continued following on Instagram from Filipino fans assure them their idol has been thriving in her chosen life, especially as a doting mom. In fact, it is clear she has passed on her genes for music to Chelsea who is now known to Banawa’s fans as her perfect singing partner in cover songs they upload online. Mother-daughter even trended in August 2019 with their impromptu duet of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s hit “Señorita.

To name a few, Banawa’s is the voice in the teleserye theme of the “Mara Clara” remake, and also has a version of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” for the show of the same title. The latter continued to be used by the ABS-CBN program until the network shut down last week. Long story short, yes, Banawa is in fact a fronliner in this ongoing battle with the coronavirus pandemic all the way in Virginia.

“Started working in the OR straight out of nursing school. Now that I am floating back up on the floors, I guess these babies are back in business,” she said. Asked what she finds the most challenging part of her job today, Banawa replied, “Just not knowing what to expect because we come into work every day and we know what we’re supposed to do. We know our duties, we know our skills but knowing that there’s that virus that’s there — this invisible enemy — and then not knowing if it’s going to hit you or not [is very difficult].”
