MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Tuesday called on the local government units (LGUs) to immediately address waste management issues in several provinces in Luzon and Visayas that were hit by floods and landslides caused by Severe Tropical Storm 'Enteng' and an enhanced southwest monsoon.

'We continue to respond to the effect of typhoon Enteng which is now passing through the western part of Luzon and Visayas, and continues to batter the northern part of Luzon,' Marcos said in Filipino.Marcos also said that rescue teams continued to help the victims.He said that more than 63,000 people have been evacuated to 452 shelters.'We have set aside a total of P480.61-million health logistics in our regions for immediate health services for all,' he added.
