President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on Monday extended over P190-million worth of Presidential aid to farmers and fisherfolk, who were affected by El Niño in the provinces in the Cagayan Valley Region.

The provincial governments of Isabela, Cagayan and Nueva Vizcaya each received P50 million to help their agricultural workers recover from the effects of the dry spell and drought caused by El Niño.“At the Office of the President, we looked for funds because I said, let us increase the assistance that will give out.
They also received farm-related machinery from the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization , 315 pump and set engine from the Department of Agriculture , and almost 20 sets of non-motorized boats and 18 units of fishing gear from the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources .
“Our assistance does not end here since the regional line agencies will still provide help to the citizens of Cagayan Valley,” Marcos said.
