A policeman from Laguna was recommended for dismissal from the service for his involvement in a robbery incident in Taguig City in June last year, the Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police (PNP-IAS) said.

A policeman from Laguna was recommended for dismissal from the service for his involvement in a robbery incident in Taguig City in June last year, the Internal Affairs Service of the Philippine National Police said.

IAS Inspector General Brigido Dulay said the policeman was arrested along with his two other companions after the robbery, adding that the arrest came after the wife of the victim was able to seek police assistance. During the probe, Dulay said the policeman was found guilty of grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer and was recommended for dismissal from the service.

“The case underscores the IAS’s unwavering commitment to holding police officers accountable for misconduct, even when off duty. We will not tolerate such criminal behavior from law enforcers,” said Dulay. “The Internal Affairs Service is steadfast in ensuring that rogue cops are removed from the service. This kind of criminal behavior is precisely what damages public trust in the Philippine National Police,” he added.
