Ayala Land Inc., Taguig City government, and the Department of Transportation held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX) in Arca South, Western Bicutan, Taguig. This state-of-the-art transport hub is projected to be a gateway from the south of Metro Manila, connecting passengers from Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao to various modes of transportation within Metro Manila.

Officials from Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), the Taguig City government, and the Department of Transportation (DOTr) gathered on Monday to mark the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Taguig City Integrated Terminal Exchange (TCITX) in Arca South, Western Bicutan, Taguig.

This public-private partnership (PPP) project, endorsed by the National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) with a budget of P4 billion, is slated for completion, testing, and commissioning in the first quarter (Q1) of 2027. Operational commencement is projected for Q1 2028, with a concession period of 35 years. The TCITX, envisioned as a state-of-the-art transport hub, will provide seamless connections for passengers traveling from Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao to various modes of transportation within Metro Manila. These include railways, buses, taxis, and other public utility vehicles (PUVs). The facility will boast efficient arrival and departure bays, a reliable public information system, safe pedestrian walkways, a centralized ticketing system with baggage handling capabilities, and park-and-ride options. 'Projected to be the gateway from the south of Metro Manila, the TCITX will accommodate approximately 5,200 vehicles, comprising provincial buses from Laguna, Batangas, and Quezon, as well as city buses and PUVs ready to transport passengers throughout the metropolis. A daily passenger volume of around 160,000 is anticipated,' stated ALI President and CEO Anna Ma. Margarita Bautista-Dy. She further emphasized, 'The TCITX will also connect to two crucial rail projects in the country: the North-South Commuter Railway, spanning from Clark, Pampanga, to Calamba, Laguna, and the Metro Manila Subway Project. This type of transportation infrastructure will undoubtedly drive growth for the nation as a whole.' The project aligns with the Integrated Terminal Exchange concept, a multimodal transport system outlined in the 2011-2016 Philippine Development Plan. This initiative aims to optimize road usage by reducing vehicular traffic and improving traffic flow through consolidated entry points to Metro Manila's major thoroughfares, particularly EDSA. DOTr Undersecretary Timothy John Batan expressed, 'Following a collaborative, national approach, this groundbreaking event holds significant weight in establishing a well-structured transport system for our country. The Department of Transportation extends its gratitude to all stakeholders who have contributed and played a vital role in making this project a reality.' ALI's share price saw an increase of P1.70 on Monday, closing at P24.00 per share
