The House of Representatives’ Defeat COVID-19 Committee (DCC) will conduct its virtual hearing tomorrow, April 14, with its economic stimulus cluster presenting its proposals on how to restart and revitalize the national economy following the enforcement of Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, chairman of the DCC, disclosed that tomorrow’s hearing will jumpstart government’s multi-pronged efforts to contain and mitigate the harsh impact of the pandemic on the economy and on the livelihood of the most needy sectors of Philippine society.

Last Maundy Thursday, he disclosed that the economic stimulus and response package cluster is headed jointly by Albay 2nd Rep. Joey Salceda, chairman of the House committee on ways and means and AAMBIS-OWA partylist Rep. Sharon Garin, chairman of the House committee on economic affairs. Also joining them is Marikina 2nd district Rep. Stella Quimbo.

Officials of the Department of Health and the Department of Social Welfare and Development are also expected to participate in the hearing.
