The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) predicts hot weather in Metro Manila with a heat index of about 38C. Actual temperature will range between 25C and 32C. Various weather systems will affect the entire archipelago, including scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in certain areas.

Expect hot weather today, Thursday, especially in Metro Manila , where a heat index or apparent body temperature is estimated to reach about 38C by noon time until mid-afternoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). Weather specialist Benison Estareja said the actual temperature would be between 25C and 32C.

'But the heat index of 36C to 38C would be probable especially during noontime until mid-afternoon,' the Pagasa forecaster said. Estareja said over the next 24 hours, four weather systems -- northeast monsoon ('amihan'), easterlies, shear line and localized thunderstorms would be affecting the entire archipelago.In particular, the shear line -- where the hot and cold air converge -- will be bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon and Camarines Norte.
