Nikka P. Villamin, an executive coach, shares her reasons for choosing Hong Kong as a family travel destination, highlighting its affordability, familiarity, and family-friendly attractions. Data from the Department of Tourism (DOT) confirms Hong Kong's popularity among Filipinos, topping the list of preferred outbound destinations in 2024.

EXECUTIVE coach Nikka P. Villamin has just arrived from a four-day family trip to Hong Kong. It’s a destination she has been going to since she was seven years old.

Villamin’s reasons for visiting Hong Kong are probably the same as other Filipinos’s, who keep returning to the destination, having discovered it as more than just the shopping capital of Asia it was known for in the 1980s and 1990s. This is why Hong Kong topped the list of Filipinos’ preferred outbound destinations in 2024, according to data from the Department of Tourism .Of the 6.

In a separate interview, Rajah Travel Corp. president Aileen Clemente told the BusinessMirror that the top three destinations were popular among Filipinos, because “their marketing strategies, both traditional and creative, are very sound, consistent and appealing.”
